June Sounds of Texas concert brings international guests

This concert featured two of the songwriters in this country of the first singer - Ramblin 'Jack Elliott and Guy Clark Conroe favorite. What a special show with two legends on stage at the Grand Ole theater. Guy Clark has just turned 70 and Jack Elliott is 80. Everyone knows that their days of tourism are limited. And have two artists on stage that night is a unique event in a lifetime.Visitors from Seattle, California, Canada, Colorado, New Orleans, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Denmark and London, England to see the show.
There were over 60 visitors from outside the state as we know it and it could have been. Add visitors to Austin, Kerrville, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Galveston Katy, Clear Lake, Bandera, Lake Jackson, Seguin, Odessa and Lubbock and you realize what an impact on tourism Sons critically acclaimed Texas Music Series did.
Well, music on June 28 started off with the band Lost & Nameless 14 years with the Austin violinist and bassist Kimberly Zielnicki. This band of talented musicians rocked the streets with their original high-energy covers of classic Americana, country music and rock 'n roll'. They feel an Americana version of an Irish pub band. Check them out when they are back at the Pub area or October Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival.
Well, within 8:15 Crighton Theatre, Debbie Glenn and KPFT DJ Rick Heysquieredo personality brought out the true American troubadour Ramblin Jack Elliott who entertained the crowd with his wonderful stories and songs. He showed in his 50 minutes of play at 80, he can still hold a crowd with his energy level and talent. What a pleasure to have been Ramblin 'Jack Elliott in Conroe.
